Do you want to teach your furry friend to retrieve and have a Border Collie, a herding breed, or perhaps a sighthound at home? Then they’ll work better with our Snoutfit dumbbell, which we’ve specially adapted for dogs with a longer snout.
Why does our Snoutfit dumbbell make your training easier?
A classic dumbbell has a longer central bar, which can make it difficult for dogs with long snouts to hold in their mouths, as it tends to move side to side, prompting the dog to chew on it. The Snoutfit is shorter, making it easier for your furry friend to grip, so they can learn to hold it correctly more easily. In addition, it comes in a striking purple color (matching the Hamtal Markfit target) and a universal size that corresponds to our classic medium dumbbell, with a side panel height of 10 cm.

Foam or wooden?
Both have a shortened central bar length of 10 cm, compared to 13.5 cm on the classic dumbbell. The difference lies in the side panels, which are made either of soft foam or plywood. The foam dumbbell is ideal for beginners because it’s lighter and doesn’t require as much experience. It also won’t hurt the dog if they accidentally drop it on their paw. Additionally, it makes no noise when it hits the floor, making it perfect for training at home. The wooden dumbbell, on the other hand, is suitable for preparing for trials.
Other options for our retrieving toys
The Snoutfit dumbbell was created based on feedback from you, our customers. It’s a redesigned version of our classic foam and wooden dumbbells. We also offer a rubber dumbbell with a standard-length central bar, which serves as a great middle ground between the foam and wooden versions – it’s slightly heavier but still forgiving for beginners. And if you’re training with a puppy, the Pupee dumbbell is perfect: it’s very light and rolls around, which encourages the puppy’s interest.
